“Ah to be young again. No worries or responsibilities except for homework, practice, wondering if the cute classmate likes you, and the succubus that lives down the street. Nights and weekends filled with sleepovers, trips to the carnival, playing hide and seek in the cemetery, and fighting off a sentient drone incursion created by your science fair projects. Yes, a simpler time.
The Spooky Twisties series by Terri Bertha follows a group of ordinary young friends into extraordinary, spooky situations. Each book has 13 tales that are fun and fearful. While these stories cover most of your scary stuff like ghosts and the creepy house at the end of the road, Bertha adds a unique twist to each story. The way she ties the stories together in each individual entry creates an overall world that a young reader can immerse themselves in. Bertha does a great job with this in the first volume and makes several callbacks to stories throughout the others.
Another thing that I found interesting about the Spooky Twisties series was how the author would incorporate simple life lessons into the scary stuff. Lessons like helping one another, respecting different opinions, cooperation, and not being a complete shit. It suggests that even if you are on the road to hell driving to a family vacation, you may still want to help someone in desperate need. So, if you are looking for a way to ease your children, niece, nephew, or the neighbors’ kids into the spooky stuff, you won’t be disappointed in starting them off with the Spooky Twisties series. But if one of the kids starts acting a bit off, check the local graveyard, there may have been a twist.”
"Having read and enjoyed the first two books in the series, I was expecting more spooky fun as I ventured once more into a town of supernatural occurrences with a group of stalwart friends. Terri had a great idea when she interconnected the stories in her books. The tales are all different, but the outcome and events leading up to them are intertwined throughout. I prowled the library when I was young, looking for books like this. I still do as an adult and get just as much hair raising enjoyment out of them. Terri brings on the eerie without being too scary and surprises you around every corner. These tales are spooky twistie indeed and a whole lot of fun."
Team Golfwell rated Spooky Twisties III 5 stars : it was amazing I enjoyed reading her previous books, Spooky Twisties I & II and also enjoyed reading this one too. I found STIII very entertaining and this author is an intelligent writer with just the right amount of scary stuff and mysteries and enjoyment which young people enjoy. The author is extremely creative and easily catches the interest and wonder of a young adult (as well as old adults). This book is a great exercise for imaginative young minds and very magical and enjoyable!

New 5 Star Review on Spooky Twisties I and II from Team Golfwell:
"I enjoyed reading “Spooky Twisties” by Terri Bertha the author of the Spooky Twisties Series. The author is very creative and knows the young adult mind. Each story had a surprise ending which makes the reader want to read the next story, but the next story is a new adventure in reading. This intelligent author interconnects the stories to add to the spookiness and the stories were very well written with a creepy (but friendly and relaxing as you first get into each spooky story. I am going to read “Spooky Twisties II.” By the way, I loved the hide and seek game in Chapter One and the truth or dare game in Chapter Nine. Clever, a bit humorous, and written for a young adult world, yet I as an adult love and admire the imagination and humor of the author."
*********** "I enjoyed reading “Spooky Twisties II” by Terri Bertha the author of the Spooky Twisties Series. Again, as a fairly intelligent adult I thought (as I did when I read Spooky Twisties I) I would guess the ending of these connected spooky short stories, but the author is extremely creative and easily catches the interest and wonder of a young adult (as well as old adults) and this book, just like the first in the series, is very hard to put down. Each story has a humorous streak in it (the same as the first book) which makes each story an entertaining and amusing read. I also think both Spooky Twisties I and II are great exercises for imaginative young minds and expands the creativity of the young reader after reading these unique stories. I especially like the magic Very entertaining!"
